Where Would Jesus Go? Acts 1:21-22 I. Introduction. A. WWJD-worn by several people today--how many really follow the principle? B. Provoked another question in my mind: Where Would Jesus Go? Acts 1:21-22. C. It is easy to be influenced by our likes and dislikes, pressures of friends, family and world to go to places that are good--and--sometimes not good. D. As adults--choose the places we consider important to go. 1. Sometimes yield to pressure to go someplace. 2. Not unusual to go somewhere because the one(s) we care for(or associate with) go there. E. If the Lord was on earth today--where would he go? II. Body. A. While upon earth, Jesus went to a number of different places. 1. The Son of God went about Galilee--preaching the gospel: Matthew 4:23. a. His reputation went before Him: Matthew 9:26. b. Not confined to Galilee: Matthew 9:35. c. Peter's comment: Acts 10:38. 2. Jesus went about His Father's business: Luke 2:49. a. Led him to Jerusalem: Mark 10:32. (1 Found in the Temple: Mark 11:15 - 17. (2 To observe Passover(God's laws): John 2:13. (3 To teach: John 7:14. b. Today: His business is our business. 3. Christ went to places to find solace and to pray: Luke 6:12. a. Explain the events about to take place when Jesus: Matthew 26:36. b. Every person needs time to reflect, to pray and to renew oneself spiritually. 4. Jesus could be found in people's homes: Luke 19:5. a. For a meal: Luke 10:38-42. b. To do good: Luke 8:41-42, 51.(continue: what happened?) 5. The Lord went to social events: John 2:1. a. Not anti-social. b. Associated with righteous people(and taught the others). c. Not wrong to socialize. 6. And--Jesus went to be crucified: Luke 19:35-36. a. He went there for you, me and every person who ever lived. b. After resurrection: Luke 24:15. 7. Some questions: a. Where would Jesus go today? b. What would He do after He arrived? B. Would Jesus go with you to the places you go? 1. Christ would not be found: a. In bars, gambling houses, or any establishment that promotes sin and iniquity. b. At social events that would endanger one's spiritual life. c. At immoral movies or any activity that glorifies iniquity and approves sin. 2. Some places where Jesus would go-- a. Where He could teach and influence people to do right. b. To homes where he could help humanity. c. To homes where righteousness could be found. d. Would Jesus... (1 Be present for all activities of local church: Bible Study, Sunday night and Wednesday night? (2 Attend gospel meetings in the area? (3 Use every opportunity to learn and to do good? 3. Wherever Jesus went, he would be upright, truthful, and promoting righteousness. a. His example would influence others. b. His speech would always be: Colossians 4:6. c. His conduct would reflect: Colossians 3:17. III. Conclusion. A. Would Jesus go with you and me to all of the places you and I go? B. Would Jesus do all of the things that you and I do? C.
