God's Way: :The Infallible Route II Peter 1:10 I. Introduction. A. All of us are deeply concerned about physical matters. 1. When you purchase real estate, you want to make sure that all is legal and sound. 2. You insure that you have proper papers for your car and other vehicles. 3. When you visit a physician, you want to trust him. 4. All legal matters: you insist they must be correct and no question about their accuracy. B. Should we not have a deeper concern and interest in spiritual matters? 1. The disciple wants to make sure his/her salvation is secured: without doubt! 2. Peter said it: II Peter 1:10. 3. We must seek a way that is right and cannot be wrong. 4. Paul said it: I Thessalonians 5:21-22. 5. Some describe it as "the infallibly safe way." II. Body. A. The only way to establish that one is on the path of righteousness, respecting the ways of God, is to prove one's teaching and practices by the book of God: I Peter 3:15. 1. The approach: Galatians 4:30. 2. There will be no mistakes and no challenges when we follow this way: it is infallible! 3. All apostasies and all denominations are the result of not following the instructions of God(the perfect law: James 1:25). 4. The infallibly safe way is not established by colleges, papers, foundations, any human organization, or the brethren, but by the Law of Jesus Christ. 5. At its peak, human knowledge is fallible. B. We can follow the infallibly safe way in: 1. The home. a. God's first great institution. b. The pattern and instructions for a proper home is in Christ's law. c. The relationship of husband and wife is ordained of God: Ephesians 5:31. (1 Lifetime: I Corinthians 7:39. (2 Only Bible reason for ending before death: Matthew 19:9. (3 No error, no mistake when respected! Infallibly safe! d. The treatment of offspring: Ephesians 6:1, 4. e. Follow the Lord's way and be safe! 2. Moral conduct and behavior. a. The instruction: I Thessalonians 5:22. b. The standards of society are not the standards of God nor of Christians. c. Modesty is still the Lord's way: I Timothy 2:9-10. d. Men: I Timothy 2:8. e. Hence: Titus 2:8. f. Follow the ways of the Lord and be safe! 3. The church. a. If respect the teachings of Christ and the apostles, we will be true to the Lord. b. The Lord built only one church(Matthew 16:18)--all else are counterfeits. c. When we open the NT and follow the pattern in worship, organization, and work, we are infallibly safe! d. The speculations and teachings of men always spoil and pervert the ways of God. (1 Note: Ephesians 5:25-27. (2 No man has any right to put his fallible hands on that which Christ built. (3 When the seed(the word of God: Luke 8:11) is planted, one is only added to the Lord's church! e. When men change the worship, they pervert what God gave. (1 Simple worship: enumerate. (2 This is God's way, no man or brother has a right to change such in any way! Be safe: do it God's way! 4. Teaching and preaching must be based on the word of God. a. Remember: II Timothy 3:16-17. b. Some illustrations that are not Biblical can be useful. (1 Sermons not based on the Word of God should not exist. (2 "What saith the scripture?"(Romans 4:3). c. The only safe way is to stick with the book. III. Conclusion. A. If we respect and obey the words of Christ, we will be infallibly safe. B. Men may err: Christ's word does not!-jy
