Little Things

I saw a little fawn wobble from the woods where it had laid,
I saw two baby squirrels run up and down a tree as they played.

I saw a beautiful butterfly stretch its wings and emerge from the cocoon,
I heard a hungry little robin sing out its hunger tune.

I saw the little blossoms begin to open upon the trees,
I saw the little petals of the bluebonnettes sway like a rolling sea.

As I see these little things I sense the freshness of life beginning anew,
And they give me hope that a new love will sprout within the heart in you.
