The Glass Box

Once there was a knight, who fell in love with a beautiful princess. The princess had feelings for the young knight as well, but was under a powerful spell of a wicked sorceror. Upon the day the knight was to profess his love, the evil sorceror confronted him and they fought. However, the knight's sword was no match for the trickery and deception of the sorceror's magic. The sorceror entrapped the young knight within a glass box which he placed in the living quarters of the young princess. The sorceror explained to the knight,"The glass of the box of which you are imprisoned represents the love of princess for me, and you shall be encased in this wall hidden from her view until the day comes when that love is abolished." And with one swift chant the sorceror slid the glass box with the knight inside into the wall, so that the princess could not see the young knight. However, the sorceror, to add to the knight's torture, enabled the knight to see out and view the young princess at all times. And there the knight stayed, each day taking his sword and striking the glass in an attempt to set himself free, and night would come and the knight would continue striking and striking until exhaustion would set it in. And finally with his strength whithered away, the knight would slump to the bottom of the glass box. However, with each time the knight took leave to rest the glass would repair itself from the cracks and shatters made be the knight's sword. But with each rise of each sun, the knight rose again and began to slash and cut at the glass with undying hope and passion. But with each passing day the knight's efforts failed and the glass repaired itself through the night. Days, Weeks passed by with no relief to the knight, but the knight's will never lost strength. But after two months of his imprisonment, the knight looked out upon the sleeping princess, and softly said these words,"How can Love be so cruel to shackle my heart and detain me from the one place I wish to be, within her arms and heart throughout eternity; And yet how can love be so wonderful and sweet, to bring me within the her prescence for chance our souls to meet; Alas this cannot be the same love for one is full of love and generosity, while the other spitefully binds the chance for true love to grow b'tween her and me. But I shall not go gentle, I shall not retire peacefully, for with each passing day my love for her grows with profound intensity." So the knight continued on his struggle, and fought and fought each day, hoping just wishing for the glass to give way. Til one day approached with the princess staring at the wall from within the glass box was kept, she spoke these words, "Alas with my knight's absence my heart has seen sadness and loneliness begin to churn, with no hope or joy in sight until his so desired return." And hearing her cries of passion, her weeps for his arms around her body and wishes for hers to hold him once again, the knight lifted his sword as his words rang true, "With every ounce of strength within me, with all the love that dwells within my heart, let me strike this glass and break through box to never let us part." And with one final strike the knight broke through the glass and landed upon the floor, and was with his princess and their love to last evermore.
