CNE Bandshell, Toronto, ON
with The Killjoys, headlining for MAdE
*****/*****
This is not my favorite band.. and I only saw them because they were playing with the Killjoys, but they were the band to shine at the Bandshell. On stage, you can tell they're having fun.. they love performing and it shows. Their set included hits like "Make You Mad", "Someone Who Is Cool", "Eat My Brain", and the favorite of the night, "Hetero-Sexual Man". The audience absolutely loved them, and sang and danced to every song, and demanded an encore at the end of their set. So the Odds come back to the stage, with notes that had been thrown on stage from fans in their hands. The notes say something along the lines of "get naked, guys!" so the drummer take the mic and says something like, "we're gonna get naked musically with you guys". Their encore consisted of some song that had a 40's rhythm to it, and (exact words) "a song we wrote in the 80's", which ended up being the one that goes "Love is the subject, and nothing else, nothing else" or something along those lines. Overall, a really fun band to see.. even if you're not a fan.
