Oh, how I'd like to go and see
What nature's wonders hold for me
But, such the curse of this great age
It's off to work to earn my wage.
Perhaps, if lucky, I will spy
Through window's glass a bird fly by
But more than likely all I'll see
Is boss's angry eyes on me.
I'll stare into my blackened screen
With it's figures flashing green
But in my mind I'll wonder why
I let this precious time go by.
I could be watching nature's show
The performance of a lifetime know
Instead, I chose to find my way
In this mad world we've mad today.
To gain the comfort of this cage
'Till overworked and worn with age
They'll send me on my merry way
No longer needed, I can't stay
And then again, to my suprise
Nature will fill my half-blind eyes
And once again I'll wonder why
I missed th flowers, birds and sky
And then I'll finally be a part
Of nature's glory, as my heart
Stops beating and they dig the hole
To place me in, at least I'll go
To see the wonders off afar
Or just from a sleep an earthworm jar.
