TANKA: Five (5) line poems in which each line has a strict measurement of beats in each line -- 5, 7, 5, 7, 7
CINQUAIN: Five (5) line poem

- a thought about your noun

DIAMANTE: Seven (7) line poem
- a noun
- two adjectives
- three participles
- four nouns related to the first
- three participles indicating change or development of the subject
- two adjectives carrying out the change
- noun opposite of the first
CONCRETE: The words of the poem create a picture
ACROSTIC: Write a word down the page and use the letters of the word to form the poem
REPEAT-A-WORD: Every line repeats the same word
