"Paths" mailing list
"Paths" is a forum for exchange of ideas, both light hearted and serious, based on the model of life as a
spiritual journey. The definition is not made more specific, on the grounds that each person's journey will
be different and what is true for one person at one time may be inapplicable to the same person at another
time, let alone to anyone else. A consequence of this is that respect and compassion for the life-views of
others is expected of the participants - surely a necessary condition for anyone participating in an internet
community! This means that all are welcome though some may feel less at home here (for instance, at the
one extreme, religious fundamentalists who regard the truth about existence as something engraved in stone;
at the other, hedonists who are satisfied with a view of life based on enjoyment of the day) - but the door is
not, in principle, closed - that would show an inflexibility that we are concerned to avoid!
