Millennium

Here's a translation from something found on a Dutch language list - it wasn't intended as a poem, more an attempt at an alternative way of putting ideas across than the traditional "literary" way! See also the Dutch version.

Millennium, new way of life.
Not confrontation but communication.
Not suspicion but sympathy.
Not fear but love.

Love for all sentient beings.
Not possible without love for yourself.
Love for yourself means:

   healing old wounds, forgiving old faults,
   cancelling old debts, renewing old promises,
   reliving old love, forgetting old hate

   more self-knowledge, more knowledge of life
   more tension, but more dedication
   head in the clouds, both feet on the ground

Healing old wounds means:

  carrying out a spiritual practice
  dialogue with the like-minded
  maintaining a deep relationship
  always taking the positive view

Millennium, peace on earth
First peace in our own house, in our own mind
Everything is possible!
