      Since you did not accomplish your homework this weekend, you are not prepared for class today.  You will need to do the following steps before you will be allowed to participate in the classroom activity related to the research you needed to have done as homework.

While you have earned a “0” for your homework, you can still earn some of the daily work points for the day by completing this sheet and doing the required research.

 

1. Explain in the space below where you went wrong.

Include in your explanation answers to each of the following questions:

• Did you listen to instructions for the homework in class?
• Did you write the homework down in your planner?
• Did you remember?
• Did you make the time for your studies?
• If you couldn’t find something on the first try, did you try other sources?

2. Explain below the specific changes you will make in order to get your homework done next time.

3. Before you can rejoin the class, you will need to find an article [and make a copy or printout of it] on the Middle East Peace Talks between the Israelis and the Palestinians. 
4. Once you have found an article, you will need to critically read it by looking up the words, places, and terms you don’t know, taking notes on the article, and organizing what you’ve found. 
5. Once you’ve finished, show your article and your notes to Mr. Braman and go back to class. 
6. When you enter class, check in with the teacher to find out what students are doing.  If you follow directions and are an effective contributor, you will be able to earn participation points for the remainder of the period.
