Me
There is a person I call me
Hidden deep inside.
This shell of bone and flesh you see
Is where I choose to hide.
The thoughts I bury deep within
They truly make me me --
The hidden dreams and hopes and fears
Are what cause me to be.
The love I feel for those around
Who mean so much to me,
The anger that consumes my soul
At times when I can't see,
The hope for achievement, those hidden desires,
The conflicts that they bring --
These are the things that drive me higher
And cause my heart to sing.
For who is a person we truly know
Outside of their secret dreams?
We, each of us, are here to sow
From the fruit of our heartfelt schemes.
Let's pray the world's a better place
Because we each have been
And giv'n of ourselves a minute trace
That makes us better men.
