The time line begins 76 years before the birth of Dee;
in those 76 years Christopher Columbus and Leonardo Da Vinci are born,
live and die. America is rediscovered; Agrippa and Nostradamus are born,
as well as Martin Luther and King Henry VIII. The actions of these two
would lead to the shattering of the Roman Catholic Church's hold upon Europe,
and give rise to the Protestant movements. In short the world was changing,
and it was changing faster then it had in a thousand years. In Dee's life
time, the earth was no longer viewed as the center of the solar system,
a Virgin Queen sat upon the throne of England, and an Alchemist Emperor
sat upon the throne of the Holy Roman Empire. Nostradamus recorded his
visions, Shakespeare wrote his plays, and Galileo discovered gravity. This
208 year span of time ends, with the publication of Dee's Enochian records
by Meric Casaubon, 51 years after Dee's death.
