Points of Pride
Our schools' bilingual program is known as "late exit" (Ramirez & Merico, l990) because it allows about 40 percent of classroom instruction to be given in the child's dominate home language until 6th grade. The aim is to increase the use of the majority language in the classroom while proportionately decreasing the use of the home language
Pinal County Science Olympiad
The Science Olympiad program is devoted to improving the quality of science education, increasing student interest in science, and providing recognition for outstanding achievement in science education for both students and teachers.
The l997 Science Olympiad for Pinal County was held March 1st , by the Ray School District in Kearny. This year Eloy Intermediate School was represented by three teams. Two of which received trophies: Team C tied with Ray for 4th place and team B received the 5th place honor.
