The rose was holy white,
a halo of scent,
glistening with teardrops of rain.
It's thorns, sharp daggers,
piercing my skin,
stealing a gasp of pain.
Your hands with their healing touch,
caressing lips,
chocolate eyes of care.
My pounding heart,
trembling skin,
no more physical pain was there.
Instead a deep aching, longing, craving,
a raging fire,
scorching my soul within.
Out of control,
a wild beast,
never hesitating in fear it could end.
The morning sun,
with warmth glows,
lying in ecstasy and bliss.
Together forever,
finally complete,
a love never existed like this.
