Suffering

by Stacey Hintz (18)

I sit here and wait
for you to reveal yourself to give me a sign,
We've suffered together
just to get through the times
now i suffer just more
knowing you're no longer here.
but knowing you weren't badly tortured,
knowing you couldn't feel pain,
makes me hurt less.

Knowing you're gone, hurts me more
Staring into nowhere,
blankly into the roses
you once gave me.
They smell so sweet,
look so pretty,
one for me and one for you.
The memories live on,
along with our bond.

I never expected the roses, or the jewlery,
I never wanted this to happen,
never to hurt this way.
