Rain

by Jade Sobriquet (15)

Pitter, Patter, Pitter, Patter
I feel the raindrops falling on my head
I see the world around me
in a haze of darkness.
No one can see me, no one can hear me
I'm alone waiting for the night
With rain and darkness,
no one can see or hear me cry.
I sit in my solitude waiting for the rain,
waiting for the moment to release my emotions.
Relief, the rain has started once again
to hide me in its peacefullness.
The water is so peaceful,
if I should die, it should be right here, right now,
underneath this cloud of tranquility.
The water is rising, I'm falling deeper into oblivion.
I see nothing but water now,
I feel the air leaving me
But the rain has stopped
this flood has been caused by my own tears.
At first I was scared, but now I am relieved,
the pain in my heart has finally left.
I hear a voice, it seems vaguely familiar
as if I'd heard it long ago.
I recognize it now, it is the voice of my own angel.
She tells me it's not too late, everything can change.
A new bit of love for life is brought back into my soul.
I start to kick, trying to get air.
I reach the top, air rushing into my lungs.
A new light of hope shines into my heart
and I decide to go on with my life.
I'm still waiting though, waiting
for it to rain again.
