When popcorn marches,
Time stands still.
Women in fancy dresses
Watch in dismay.
Children take up chances,
And forsake their play.
This is the moment.
Time stands still.
The workers stop,
And turn up their heads.
Upwards to the sky,
Where the blackbird
Swallows the sun.
Utter darkness is the void,
While widespread panic
Overtakes the land.
Still popcorn marches,
Fewer in numbers;
Eaten up.
Onward,
Downward,
Outward,
March, march, march,
Pop, pop, pop.
