A mysterious smile,
A few words of sympathy,
I fell into your trap,
Time and time again.
I'm just one of among the many
Victims of your influence.
So tell me now, please,
Is it really worthy to pretend?
I trusted you with my secrets,
You mocked my naive nature.
Always the hypocritical one,
Betraying me time after time.
As I slowly wake up from your dream world,
I pity and reach out to your other "friends."
So tell me now, please,
Is it really worthy to pretend?
And still, I admire you
For that world-class actress
Lying with a perfectly straight face.
Hiding the very nature of your being,
With a mask of innocence,
Wasting your last specks of truth.
So tell me now, please,
Is it really worthy to pretend?
I doubt you will remember me,
But you won't forget your lies.
Everyone has a conscience,
And your lies will haunt you.
Maybe then, and only then,
Will you regain faith in truth.
So tell me now, please,
Is it really worthy to pretend?
