Meditation (Revised)

by Donna Chen a.k.a Aries29 (14)

Without knowing why, my ambitions disappear,
Numerous trials and thousands of failures.
Raised with childish dreams and high hopes,
Only to find them trapped in an untenable orb.

Like fake sprinkles of shine in a snow globe,
Like Santa's reindeers, elves, and presents,
Like an oasis of waterfalls in an arid desert,
Only to find myself chasing after rainbows.

Laughing at foolish things on the surface,
Crying for my lost innocence underneath.
For the experience taht creates my knowledge,
Only to find my pureness being sacrificed.

Puzzling thoughts in a neverending passageway,
Ever growing dilemmas weaving a webbed labyrinth.
Broken promises and depression screaming in my face,
Only to find shattered dreams in fraudulent peace.

This poem will soon be published in "The Glistening Stars"
