She is standing alone in her bedroom,
Looking out the window at the cold snowy night.
She can only think of her love.
He left her alone without an explanation.
He just disappeared into the night.
She picks up a photo of him from her desk,
and she throws it across the room.
The glass shatters and falls around her feet.
She felt as if without her love,
She was nothing, nobody, worthless.
As if she fallen into a black hole where there was no escape.
The phone rings, and she answers in a quiet, timid voice.
The police officer says, "I'm sorry Anna, but John is dead."
Her hand starts shaking and she drops the phone.
She falls to her knees, overwhelmed with grief.
And she cries on into the night.
