January

by Jennie May (17)

The snow seemed to touch my soul
as you did so long ago
the crisp, clean air of January
filled my senses to the rim
and I met you there in that time
when I was still so young
so unbroken and naive
you kissed me there
under the moonlit night
and our breath, so new,
colored the cold air
and warmed us for a moment
until we became cold again
