Forced

by Renee McGown (13)

I'm forced to live here
With a smile upon my face.
Forced to appear happy
When sucked into disgrace.

Forced to listen to him,
Forced to obey her.
Forced into a perfect life
Where nothing could be better.

I'm not so perfect,
So I'm forced to change.
Forced into another person
Out of my range.

Forced to breathe
Living through every day.
Forced to do,
Forced to say.

Forced to be a friend,
Forced to be a foe.
Forced to be a stranger,
Someone I'll never know.

Forced to bottle up feelings,
Never to be set free.
Love and hate
Living within me.

Forced to hold on,
Forced to let go,
Forced to forget,
Forced to know.

Forced to have eyes
That sparkle with glee.
Forced to be a person
That isn't me.

Forced and taken over,
Body, soul and mind.
Forced to put me away
For no one else to find.
