Cigarettes

by Amanda Proctor (15)

Inhale
Exhale
Suck up those cheeks
Blow out the fumes
Cough up some flem
The buzz reaches a low peak
Smoke overhead looms
You eyes now a dull gem.

Ashes
Ashes
The guarantee of death
All stuck in my lung
Holes burned in my dress
Yellowed-teeth are all I've left
Too soon I will be long done
But all you hear now is a faint hiss.
