A Note From You

by Renee McGown (13)

I remember how your hand swirled,
Signing your name on my note.
How you drew a heart
After every sentence you wrote.

How you added a "p.s."
Along the line of red
Telling how you love me,
And meant every word you said.

I remember how you dotted your "i"s,
And how you crossed your "t"s.
The sharp edge of your "k".
And the curve of every "c".

I remember at the end of my name,
The little line of hearts.
And sideways, the word "love"
From where my name starts.

Fold it up six times and write "To Renee",
Handing it to me with a kiss.
And how your scent surrounded it
Put me in pure bliss.

Every now and then,
I'll read a letter from you.
And if you knew how I treasured them,
Oh, if you only knew...
