The Great Salt Lake has islands in it. The largest island is Antelope island. Many houses, roads and other buildings have been built around the lake.

    In spring the snow from the Wasatch Mountains melt and it flows to the Great Salt Lake. Wasatch snows have been discovered by many skiers. Many skiers ski there now. One of the skiing places is called Alta. In 1984 the valley below the Wasatch Mountains was beginning to drown and many skiers started skiing there.

    The largest near bycities are Salt Lake City and Ogden. Salt Lake City is the capital of Utah. There are many industries in the city. The city is the trade center. In the city there are the University of Utah, Westminster College. Near by there are seven major ski areas and a lot of recreation spots.
