LISTING OF TRADITIONAL MASSES WHICH HAVE BEEN
APPROVED BY LEGITIMATE AUTHORITY.
REPUBLIC OF
SLOVENIA
Slovenia is an independent Republic which used to be the northernmost constituent
republic of communist Yugoslavia. It should not be confused with the Republic of Slovakia,
which was formerly part of Czechoslovakia.
There are no indult masses in Slovenia but there is some access to three from
neighbouring sees very close to the Slovenian border. Every-Sunday masses can be reached
at Gorizia in the Archdiocese of the same title in Italy (60 km. from
Ljubljana, capital of Slovenia, and 50 km. from Koper) and at Klagenfurt (60 km. from
Ljubljana) in the Diocese of Gurk-Glagenfurt in Austria. There is also
good access from part of Slovenia to Indult Masses on First Fridays at Trieste
(15 km. from Koper) in the Italian Diocese of the same title.
Slovenia is also under the jurisdiction of the Yugoslavian Byzantine Diocese of
Krizevci
in Croatia. The only Byzantine Mass is offered at Metlika,
on the Croatian border. Tel.: 068-59-580, Fr. Mihajlo Hardi.
