TURKISH REPUBLIC OF NORTHERN CYPRUS

|
|
This listing does not imply that the site moderators recognize or in any way approve of
the claim by Turkey that the Turkish Repulbic of Northern Cyprus is a state independent of
Cyprus. Its separate listing here does not reflect any support for its independence on the
part of the moderators . It is their policy to list all de facto countries only because
the independent authorities which control them might interfere with permissions to
celebrate traditional Catholic masses. In the case of Northern Cyprus, all the information
for Cyprus (q.v.) is applicable, although it should be noted that the rule of a
Muslim authority has, in this case, driven many Christians out of the area.
Listing of Traditional Masses Which Have Been Approved under
Papal Authority.
There are no traditional latin masses in Northern Cyprus. The country has a Maronite
Antiochene jurisdiction for the whole island and there are also Armenian Rite masses
available on the island.
Until more information becomes available to the site moderator, there will be no
listing of Eastern Catholic masses in Lebanon. Following is a list of Eastern Catholic
jurisdictions. There are every-Sunday traditional masses in each of them.
ANTIOCHENE RITE: MARONITE USE
Archdiocese of Cyprus (directly subject to the Patriarchate, which resides in Lebanon)
