The Roman Rite provinces of the Commonwealth of Australia follow state and territorial boundaries with the exception that part of the civil State of New South Wales lies in the Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn with the whole of the Australian Capital Territory. The entire Northern Territory embraces the Diocese of Darwin and belongs to an ecclesiastical province which also includes the whole of the State of South Australia.
