As disclosed at an April 7 news conference, St. Xavier High School’s religion department and administration have created an environment and curriculum favorable to homosexuality.
Over the express objections of parents, a representative of "Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays" (P-FLAG) has spoken annually for the past six years to junior Social Justice and Morality classes at the school.
St. Xavier Principal David Mueller has headed a group of Catholic high school principals that asked the Archdiocesan Commission on Education to add "sexual orientation" to its list of protected employment classifications.
Parents have been kept in the dark regarding St. Xavier’s homosexual agenda. Only after large numbers of concerned parents began inquiring this year about the P-FLAG presentation did the St. X principal and president issue a joint communiqué alleging that the school curriculum is guided by the Roman Catholic Church’s Magisterium.

If so, why were parents excluded from the April P-FLAG presentation - a violation of their rights under Canon Law?
Homosexuality is a behavior, not an immutable characteristic like race. It has profound moral and medical consequences. True compassion requires that we love the sinner but rebuke the sin. That’s why P-FLAG doesn’t belong at St. Xavier.
The presentation of only one side of the issue, and the exclusion of parents is wrong. It lends implicit legitimacy to P-FLAG’s amoral views and is as unjust to students as any topic they will study in their social justice unit.
