I am very upset that all of the letters published
showed disagreement toward the article on same-sex marriage. In relation
to Ann E. Franxmann's letter, I most certainly disagree ["Find some real
news"] I believe that the controversy surrounding whether or not same-sex
marriages should be legally ordained is much more important than other
issues, such as Hollywood's "best dressed," printed in the Tempo section.
In answer to Frank A. Camarca's letter ["Lives destroyed"] it is
no one's place to condemn or condone anything. The Enquirer did not do
either. As a good journalistic paper should do, The Enquirer presented
its readers with a story of what is going on in the world today.
Janice Watson's letter ["Not a normal lifestyle"] and the "normalization
of gay relationships," as she put it, is not being shoved down her throat.
No one forced her to read the article- she chose to. |
Lastly, in answer to the more ridiculous
letter printed ["Can anyone marry?"], I was quite appalled with his attitude
and his comment relating the idea that homosexual men getting married can
be compared to bestiality. Such close-mindedness is quite scary and very
sad.
Homosexuals have feelings and are most certainly human beings. There
is no reason for the "God fearing people" of this community to condemn
same-sex marriages. Many Christians believe that the Bible says that homosexuality
is wrong; does it not also say that man shall not judge others? I always
thought that was God's job.
