Doctor’s murder worse than abortion?

This letter is in regard to The Cincinnati Enquirer’s article "Sniper kills abortion doctor in home" [Oct. 25]. A life taken by another is always a tragedy. Dr. Barnett Slepian, an abortion doctor, was gunned down in his own home. That is tragic. In our society we take liberty in placing more value on certain human lives than others. It saddens me that people place a higher value on this doctor’s death than on the deaths of millions of unborn children. Both are tragic. At one time Dr. Slepian was an unborn child. Does the fact that he was a doctor, grown man, or father make his life more valuable now than it was when he was still growing in the "safety" of his mother’s womb? When do you place value on human life? At conception, when a baby is viable, when they are college students, when they graduate from medical school, when they contribute to the economy? All human life should be valued from conception until natural death. If you are outraged at the death of this man, and rightfully so, I hope you take this opportunity to be equally outraged at the "constitutionally protected medical service" of abortion.
