If God hates gays, why are there so many?

In Martin L. Clock’s letter to the editor ["Gays don’t deserve special status protection," Oct. 17], he states that "Any humans with a genetic predisposition to mate with the same sex would have, for obvious reasons, failed to procreate long ago." I would reply that God must love homosexuals, because he keeps making more. Perhaps gays and lesbians were put on earth to test our ability to love.
