Judith Willoughby

Judith Willoughby is currently the
director of the widely recognized Temple
University Children's Choir and Professor
of Music at the Montgomery County Community
College. A graduate of Northwestern and
Temple Universities, Willoughby is a rising
star on the choral music scene. In addition to
her work with children's choirs, she is
founder and Artistic Director of the Choral
Society of Montgomery County, which achieved
the gold award in international competition
at Sydney, Australia and performed the opening
concert at the national conference of the
Australian Choral Music Educators in Brisbane.
Her choirs have performed with the Philadelphia
Orchestra, the Philadelphia Classical Symphony,
and the St. Petersburg Philharmonic (former
Soviet Union), and have toured Eastern Europe,
the former Soviet Union, and Puerto Rico.

Willoughby is past president of the Pennsylvania
ACDA, President of Pennsylvania Presenters,
Past President of the Pennsylvania Collegiate
Choral Association, and sits on the Board of
Directors for Chorus America. She has served as a
panelist for many state and regional arts organizations
and as a clinician and adjudicator for all genres of
choral ensembles. Her energy, style, and passion
for all types of choral music make her a favorite
with festival choristers and their directors.

During 1998, Willoughby conducted high school
and children's all-state and honor choirs in Ohio,
Pennsylvania, Nebraska, Virginia, and Rhode Island.
