School Rules and Procedures / Loading and Unloading
 Loading and Unloading

Car Riders:

—Mornings: Drive your vehicle toward the covered walkway. A teacher will be on duty to supervise
safety. Have your child’s things (lunch money, etc.) ready so that unloading can be done quickly and safely
without holding up traffic. If you need to go inside for any reason, please park in the Visitor Area to keep the unloading lane open for moving traffic.

—Afternoon: Car riders are dismissed at 2:50 p.m. Keep your car in the loading lane and ready to move
as children exit through the front door. If you must get out, please park in the Visitor Area to keep the loading lane open for moving traffic. Children will be asked to stand as close to the load/unload sign as possible and will be loaded from there. We encourage allparents to wait in line rather than walk students to the parking lot; this creates a safety hazard and impedes our loading procedures.

If you are sending a grandparent, relative, or friend after your child, please make sure they have been informed of the loading procedures.

CHILDREN CROSSING THE STREET
Children walking to cars can be a dangerous situation for youngsters and we are asking for  YOUR HELP with this. If you plan to walk your child(ren) into the building from your car, we are asking  that you use the area designated in the parking lot. This allows the child to cross onto the walk without  getting into the path of traffic loading and unloading students. Several parking places will be designated  for this crossing. Parents parking in the parking lot must walk to the loading area to get their children
after the car line is completely finished. Parking on Flint Hill Road is discouraged by the North  Wilkesboro police and violators may get a ticket.
