My love for history and the biographies of our heroes comes to awake at the instances of the husband of one of my matenar aunts (María). Valmore Rodríguez Barrera was, in life, a Venezuelan Army Brigadeer General and during his years of retirement, professor of military history at the Military Academy in Caracas. His conversations, always interesting and full with colorful prose, planted in me, the seed of admiration for men that seemed more than human. To Gen. Rodríguez Barrera, my eternal gratitude; pity that I never told him that I admired him also. (Thank you Chacón)
