A terrible storm ensues that night. Large lightning storms, meteorshowers, and many strange happenings occur: Casca saw a lion cross his path and eyed him, but just kept on walking; people's hands nad bodies were seen to be burning but were not consumed; ghostly women were seen; and during the previous day a "bird of night" (owl) was seen in the town square shreaking. Cassius informs Casca of his plan to convince Brutus to join their conspiracy. He writes several notes to be planted in places where Brutus would find them supposedly from all different citizens complaining to Brutus about Caesar's inadequate ruling and of Brutus's obvious leadship capabilities.
