Interdisciplinary Connections Introduction

During this semester of World Literature, students will be encouraged to see the connections that citizens of the world make between the content areas in spite of cultural differences.  As an introduction, students were placed in different groups investigating an artifact of science, math, literature, art, or music.  First, students analyzed and interpretted the artifact they received.  Then students found or created connections between the subject matter or medium and math/science.  In round three, students followed the same procedure only establishing connections with literature and then finally art.

      Artifacts used:
      Science - Newton's Laws
      Math - Golden Ratio
      Literature - Pasternak's "In Everything I Strive"
      Art - Delacroix's "Tiger Hunt"
Music - Mozart's Piano concerto in B Flat or various Overtures
