FUN

Fun activities can bring an appreciative smile, laughter, and a sense of eternal freedom. This can be by having a party, playing a musical instrument, enjoying your children's progress, spending time with a hobbie or sport. . . actually, most any activity can be fun, even work, if it is what you enjoy. Overall, having generous, harmonious space alloted for the fun activities is a step in the right direction.

Backyard
Having a backyard is a positive link to play and recreation. It is the closest symbolism for fun as we are defining it here. The more the backyard is used for fun, the better -- developed or undeveloped. (For frontyards and sideyards, see Social Life.)

Do you have a water source in the yard? This is a great addition to a recreation area. Even if it is just a water hose, the addition of water will add to the fun. If you live in a snowy climate, snow (essentially water) recreation will take the place of water.

Lawn or wooded areas to run about in add to fun, particularly for children. Ask any fun-loving child to help create the best backyard. They could have good ideas.

Do you have no backyard? That may be an expression of delaying fun and recreation until some undefined future goal is attained. Our suggestion is don't put off having fun, if that is what you want. Find a place with a yard, or next to a great park now.

Fireplace or Wood Stove
Fire-burning symbolizes expressing oneself, a sure expression of fun. Fires can have bad repercussions, so it is good to guard the fire with good firescreens and other safety precautions. Poor safety measures around the hearth symbolize not taking care of oneself, or being careless in life. (Be careful in your life and your firescreen will improve; or have a better firescreen and your life will be lived more carefully -- that's how all these things may work -- try either one!)

Backporch
'Anything goes' in a backporch, so it helps people to completely relax and have fun. Backporches also symbolize potential decadence. Be warned: if people in the household have problems with sloth, alcohol, et cetera, you may want to get rid of the backporch. (Read about side porches and front porches in Social Life.)

Hobbie Room
You value a good life so much that not only do you have a back yard, and perhaps a back porch, but a separate room in the house dedicated to play. That is helping to guarantee many moments in your life of harmony and fun!

Water
Having a pool, jacuzzi, lake, ocean or any water source is saying YES to life. It would be the best addition to a backyard.
That extends to inside the house with generous bathtubs and sink areas. To have just a shower and no bathtub is expressing a fear of life, thus a lack of fun. Hey! You can still shower! The bath just has to be there, and be generous!

Music
Have a good sound system! It is an important element for fun. It expresses enjoyment and sympatico.

Pets
Having a pet is a symbol that your interest is in people's behavior and your interactions with them. And you thought it was just because you liked pets! (and maybe not even people. Well, so you say!) Pets are social animals, like us. Having pets, and living a social life can be fun!
