GIMNASIO INGLES is a private, non profit, day, University prep, co-educational Institution that offers bilingual education (K-9) to students of all nationalities regardless of race or creed. GIMNASIO INGLES is a growing and improving institution. Founded in 1991, GIMNASIO INGLES offers a dual program of both Colombian Bachillerato and US High School through an American-type curriculum. Its first graduating class will be 2002.

The eight-member School Board consists of three parents appointed by the original founders and five parents elected by the General Assembly. The administrative team consists of the Director, two principals (Elementary School – K3 to 5 and Secondary School 6 to 12), a Finance – Head, and a Business Manager. GIMNASIO INLGES is accredited by the Colombian Ministry of education and is in the process of accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.

The school is divided into three sections, namely, Preprimary (K3 to 1st grade), Primary (2-5), Secondary School (6-9). The curriculum of GIMNASIO INGLES is based in US system, But the Spanish language is taught K-12 and Colombian History & Geography is taught both in Elementary and Secondary School. Core subjects (Math, English, Science, and Social Studies) are taught in English. There is a wide variety of extracurricular activities and sports teams.

There are 80 employees, including 50 teachers ( 11 foreign and 39 Colombians). All our teachers hold university degrees and approximately 20% hold graduate degrees. Continuing staff development is a school policy.

At present (1999), there are 456 students enrolled, 94% of whom are Colombian, 2% North American, and 2% third nationals. There are 220 males, and 236 Females ; 118 students in pre-primary, 238 students in Elementary school and 100 students in Secondary School. There are 20 groups, and the average class size is 25.

Total area campus is 44.000 m2 . Facilities include a building for preprimary (K3-1),a building for Primary (2-5), and a building for Middle School. There is 1 computer lab, a library, a science lab, soccer and multipurpose courts, and spacious gardens. 3 Multiples fields .There is also a cafeteria, and an administrative building.

Annual tuition in K4 and K5 is $ 1,732 US; from 1 to 5 grade is $1,747; and from 6 to 12 grade is $ 1,747. Other fees (annual) include registration: $1,622; transportation $ 293; lunch: $356, and Books: $100. School fees are payable in Colombian pesos. (Amounts are approximate due to the variability of the exchange rate) .
