- Q.2931
- The broadband out-of-band signaling standard for call management. Also known as Q.93 broadband.
- QCIF (Quarter Common Intermediate Format)
- Part of the International Telecommunications Union Telecommunications Standards Sector’s H.261 video format standard, centered on Common Intermediate Format, which is a compromise between NTSC and PAL. In the H.261 standard, only QCIF is specified (176 X 144 pixel resolution).
- QMF (Query Management Facility)
- IBM’s strategic query and report-writing product for relational database management systems (DBMSs). Its main objective is to widen the relational DBMS user base, i.e., to allow anyone to use relational data. QMF has basic analysis and graphics features.
- QOS (Quality of Service)
- A negotiated contract between user and network that renders some degree of reliable capacity in the shared network.

- QPSX (Queued Packet Synchronous Exchange)
- A metropolitan-area network based on the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers 802.6 Distributed Queue Dual Bus standard for speeds up to 150 Mbps.
- Quel (Query Language)
- A relational data manipulation language that was a rival to Structured Query Language (SQL) but has now fallen into general disuse. It was used for the University of California at Berkeley Ingres prototype and adopted for the early versions of Relational Technology and Britton-Lee products. IBM’s endorsement of SQL killed Quel, despite its popularity among many relational partisans.
