....Vengeance was born into a relatively well-to-do hobbit family, with her father being in the assassination business and her mother in the business of thievery. Growing up in the underworld understandably affected her morals, leading her to keep company with all types of characters, though her parents trained her to be a lady. When it came time for her to choose a profession, she decided to follow in her father’s footsteps, while her brother, Blackbeard, chose to follow the path of thievery, after their mother. She began her training in the deadly arts at a fairly early age, which is reflected by the air of deadly grace that presents itself in her every movement. Once her training was completed, she wandered the length of Arda, doing freelance assassination jobs while experiencing the wonders of the world.
…One night, though, Vengeance was the victim of an attempted assassination. She barely escaped with her life, and the experience was a very shaking one. During the long hours of her recovery, she came to realize that no one should have the power of life and death over another. She vowed to join the forces of justice, and protect the citizens of Arda from foul assassins. To explain the apparent incongruity between the concept of vengeance and her new profession as a sheriff, she coined the phrase: "Vengeance is just one aspect of Justice." She now fights for the citizens of Arda, guarding their safety while assassins walk the streets.
… Or so the story goes…
