I take classes of this martial art and it's very good. Not only the techniques, philosophy, etc., but I also enjoy the fact that it's a non-profit organization with fees that are very reasonable. The teachers are all volunteers and do it not to make a profit |
or a living. Shorinji Kenpo requires quickness
and good technique to be done well. Little muscle is
required, compared to other martial arts I believe.

Travelers' Tales Books filled with short stories of peoples' experiences around the world. These are great books. I read this book and liked to read one or two stories before bed. Creates a nice image in my mind and something to think about while I fall asleep. |

A radio show I could somehow pick-up from L.A. one summer long ago, if I stood in the right position. And the wind was blowing in the right direction. Remember that movie Little Shop of Horrors with Steve Martian as the dentist? Well, his song from the movie was in the top ten the last time I heard this radio show very faintly and often fading in and out near the end of the AM dial. Weird Al also recorded one of his songs from his first album live on this radio show. Dr. Demento is pals with Al now, and I saw him on the Weird Al Show. That still on TV? |

Ultimae Wonder Years Page |
Tour of Duty
&
China Beach
These two shows both have excellent dramatic acting.
Some of the best I'd seen on a TV show up until that time.
But it takes more than just good actors to make good shows,
so I cannot not give credit to the people behind the scenes too.
This show was
Good Neighbours/The Good Life
I just love this show.
When I think of an ideal relationship
between a man and woman,
I think of the main two characters on this show.
You just can't get any better in my mind.
Aaaaaah... What a rapport these actors had.
funny, whitty,
romantic, good-hearted,
and environmentally friendly.
Watch for re-runs on TV.

Tokion Magazine [eng] | [jap]
This is a really good [new] Japanese culture magazine that can be bought in most book stores, but their web site contains lots of content from their publication (10% they say) and other things not published. It's time Japanese people look to thier own country for culture and you should have a look too, interesting stuff (probably not interesting to Japanese people. People who aren't interested in their own country should move to somewhere else).re:tokyo
