The Steveston Spectrum programme encompasses the four core subjects of English, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies. At each grade level, a team of two teachers, one Humanities specialist and one Sciences specialist will collaborate to build connections within and between these core areas.
The scope of each of these core courses meets the Ministry perscribed grade level curricula and addresses the unique and special needs of each Spectrum student.
The classroom climate within Spectrum encourages the development of collaborative skills. Opportunities to work in cooperative groups will allow students to enhance both leadership and teambuilding skills through a variety of student-centered activities.
Independent Study within the core areas will provide opportunities for Spectrum students to expand their knowledge and to explore topics of their own interest within the Humanities and Sciences.
