Charles Lindbergh
Hello my name is Vanessa and my partner’s name is Jocelyn. We are studying Charles Lindbergh. We decided to study this because when we heard that he was the first man to fly across the Atlantic Ocean solo, we wanted to know why. This is what we learned.

Childhood
Charles Lindbergh was born in Detroit Michigan and raised on a farm near Little Falls, Minnesota. Charle’s Dad was a United State congressman and his Mom was a teacher in a high school. When Charles was a kid, he liked mechanics. When Charles was  9, he was a graet mechanic. When he was 11, his Mom and Dad put him in care of fixing cars and driving them. When he was in high school, he helped on the farm and got a kit to build a tractor.

                                   School

When Charles first started high school, his grades weren't so good. He started working hard so when he was supposed to be in bed he was in the bathroom studying. His hard work paid off, he had the best grades in the class. He also went to a school in Nebraska. After school in Nebraska, Charles enrolled in a U.S army flight. He became a professional pilot.

Jobs
With his parents permission, he went to a class to learn to fly a plane. Charle’s first professional job was delivering mail from  St. Louis to Chicago and towns along the way. Delivering mail was not an easy job because he some times didn't have an airport or a runway. After all the great work he did, he became  a professional pilot. He learned that being a professional  pilot meant more than flying, it meant studying and getting good jobs.

                          From New York to Paris

There was a challenge to fly from New York to Paris. This was a big challenge for all pilots. When   Charles heard about the contest to fly from New York to Paris he started to look for some one to make him a plan. Charles began thinking how far was it from New York to Paris? Six pilots died trying to fly from New York to Paris. 100,000 people wanted to see the Spirit of St,. Louis land. When Charles flew the plan on May 21 ,1927 he won 25,00 dollars.
