You all May Be wonder ing what the TI-89 is. You probably think its a bomb or something, so I think it may be useful to clarify what it is. The TI-89 is the most advanced handheld graphing calculator ever made, and a real bargain at $150. It can do 3-D graphs, 2-D graphs, and has a processor better than the computers that you may have saw 10 years ago. You may ask: why should I buy a calculator that can do all this stuff that you wouldn't know if your life depended on it? Three reasons: Number one: Factoring. In my Algebra math class, we had a section on factoring complex equations. This came in handy
quickly,
however my friends J.M. and Frank and I got busted on the test because
we had an unfair advantage over the kids who were too poor to afford one
of those. As if I can help it that the other kids are poor.
Maybe they should transfer to a public school. Anyway, Frank didn'thave
to retake the test, because he claimed he didn't know how to use the 'Factor('
key, and I agreed because he's as dumb as toast. Any way, reason
number 2: Games. I started this whole thing about calculator games
when i had a TI-83. When I got my new calculator, I got new games.
Soon, Frank and I could program or modify our own gsames, and that leads
me to reason Number 3 for buying the most advanced calculator in the world:
It makes all calculator owners feared by all. Everyone would want
to play games. No one insulted us out of fear of becoming written
into one of the games. To date, there are only 4 people in the entire
St. john Vianney Catholic School who owned a TI-89: J.M. Smith, Frank Mannly,
Sarah Chapman, and myself, Gavin Craig. With all that cleared up,
on with the games.
