We mights be eben gettin’ de’ nuz ‘bout de’ peoples that come down 'n get in troubles in de' easy water. But, we be helping them when we can. We be habin' lots of de' fun slippin' off to the Flody Keys or over to de' Ba'mas, chasin' dem' Flody crayfish. Oh, don't want to be missin' dem'. Ah thinks the Captain been watchin' dem' thongs that struts up the beach, too, and him an old fella. Whoo, it has been hot and dry and been nice to take a cool dip in the sea or pool, but.... Here come the Captain now. Captain has you got some nuz fo' us?"

We've had a great time here in the Florida waters lately. Local fishing has been great and we're getting some beautiful weather and relief from the New Year's cool spell. Bahamas fishing is very good (no fishing without checking in with customs) with dolphin and wahoo being taken but the cooler waters have driven the fish up on the reefs and they are harder to raise in deep water. January brought the sailfish and larger pelagics so that's been interesting, too.

As for sailing, the Captain and crew closed out the Old Millenium with a cruise in the British Virgin Islands over Thanksgiving of 1999. We sailed here and there, visiting all the great spots in the island paradise, and giving the Capt'n a chance to acquaint the crew with the pleasures of larger yacht cruising in his old sailing haunts of some years ago. It was a fantastic adventure. We followed that up with a Millenium Powerboat Cruise in the Bahamas to continue into the new century with a nautical flavor. All had a great time amongst the Abaco Islands with good fishing, diving, and exploring. We missed any extended sailings last year, but, the Captain and his crew of buccanneers are planning a cruise down in the Windward Islands this Spring or Summer We will let you know more and will be sending our news on the "web". GET IN TOUCH if you want to go!!

One of our regular crew tells us that there are still plans afoot for the Tristan Jones Waterfest and Regatta to be held this Spring in the Florida Treasure Coast area. We want everybody to get fair wind on this and attend our raft-up and Party Gala. Those lovelies from the island sail gang are still looking to come over with flower dresses flowing whilst hanging from the topping lift...the ladies or the dresses?

Check out the TC Boating Club Newsletter for more on this.
See The Captain sez...next month for more "nuz".
