A once in a lifetime (we’ve done this more than once) opportunity to experience the pleasures of boating and cruising on the warm., gentle waters of South Florida and vicinity. The cruise will be planned as the participants choose dependent on weather, cruise conditions, and the captain’s safety requirements. We give only a suggested itinerary. The Florida Keys provide a beautiful setting for inland cruising and offer all the adventure of island life, clear water, and delectable treats. We know you want to go!
Day 1 - Fly to West Palm Beach, be met at the airport by limousine (a complimentary service) for a scenic through town trip to a marina on the Intra-Coastal Waterway, board your luxury power yacht, enjoy the warm comfortable weather, visit the waterfront for land and seaside sights. Stay aboard overnight.
Day 2 - Provision and inspect the vessel, make a safe float plan, and depart down the ICW to view the magnificent homes and resorts of Palm Beach, Manalapan, and Boca Raton. Stop for lunch at the Banana Boat for Raggae sounds and to get into a relaxing vacation mood. It gonna’ be lots of fun. Continue on to berth at the fabulous Bahia Mar Marine in Fort Lauderdale, Sin City by the Sea. Party at the Bahia Cabana with cool soul by Suzie, walk the famous Pier 66 docks to see beautiful private yachts.
Day 3 - Continue south through the busy Miami ICW viewing towering condos, and the undersides of many bridges. Tour the port to view the ocean cruisers, tugs and tows, sightseeing boats, and roaring speedboats coming and going (are we glad we have the captain handy). Dock at Planet Hollywood, Gigi’s, CoCoNuts, or in the slip that serves the Titanic Grill and Pub Brewery in Coral Gables for a free round and vat chat. Depart Biscayne Bay via the Stiltsville pass through the reef for a run down Hawke Channel to berth at Holiday Isle for shopping, world’s largest Tiki Bar, bikini’s and booze, a tan on the the ocean beach, or a dip in one of two pools with swim up bars in the center. We’ll likely find a "Beach Party Jam" in progress. Enjoy!
Day 4 - Continue down the Keys enjoying island life; snorkeling with the barracuda, fighting mosquitoes on a Lignum Vitae Key nature walk, or dodging thunderstorms on a tossing sea (not really, just in the summer). Berth at Faro Blanco Resort in Marathon to watch the tarpon frolic, or go to the Topside Downside Bar to watch each other frolic and/or enjoy a dip in the immense salt water pool. Delight in the multi- color rays of a Keys sunset over the Gulf. Dine on great seafood buffet at a nearby restaurant.
Day 5 - By departing early, we make a steady run to Key West if time and conditions are suitable. If not we trek back. The crew makes the plans. Seeing Key West requires another day to return. Either way, we ease over the bar and into the curvy channel (another reason we brought the captain) of the Duck Key Resort to view the cozy island and sportfishing boats in the well protected marina. If we haven’t had a Blowout Party in Key West, the Whale Harbor Inn will do for this.. Are we having fun yet?
Day 6/7- Set out for an ocean run into Miami Channel, a return into the ICW, and a lunch brunch at Le Tub in Hollywood (where all the stars wine and dine) Either way there is plenty of clear water and pleasant sailing. We return to WPB for an overnight aboard and more soaking up the warmth of Florida.
The schedule for the cruise is usually Saturday through Friday but other dates could be arranged if planned early enough. In order to be accepted as crew, a deposit of $300/person must be received two (2) months in advance of the cruise dates with an additional $600/person received within one (1) month of the starting date. Monies paid will be returned in full if the trip is not a go. If you cancel after the trip has been declared a go 1/2 of your paid monies will be returned.
