Salamanders are the spirits of Fire and are associated with the aspects of fire. Without them fire cannot exist. They work through the emotional natures that produce body heat. They activate lightning and decide where it will strike. They are considered the strongest and most powerful of all the elementals. Fire is the element of change and passion. It is creativity, motivation, will power, drive and sensuality. It is sexuality, both physical and spiritual. It is a masculine and projective element and governs all candle magick. It is essential in spells and rituals of healing , purification, sex, breaking bad habits or destroying illness and disease. It is the element of authority and leadership. Fire represents that quality that is displayed when physical movement is needed. It is the both the creator and the destroyer. Fire is represented by the direction South, the place of heat, Summer, the time of heat and Noon. In tarot it is represented by Wands and the magickal tools of athame, swords, censer and the knife. Its astrological signs are Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius.

Fire generally located in the South, the element of fire represents creativeity, imagination,intuition, and courage. The elementals that represent this realm are Salamanders, which may look like a firey image of real salamanders or little flames. Fire is generally considered a masculine element, and one of the primary methods of magick in this element is that of candle magick.
