Summary: I was just thinking about what would Remy's first mission
be, after he and Logan had moved back into the LeBeau Manor in LA. I know,
I know, I'm stuck on the series. It really haunts me. I'm not meaning to
sound conceited, or biased or anything. I was just wondering. Based on
"Only In My Dreams"
Early morning, in June, and the phone rang on the bedside table. Logan's side of the bed. He had been lying on his back, hands behind his head, and staring up at the ceiling. It was early, yet. The phone rang a second time and Logan answered it. His left hand held the phone as his right was now wrapped around Remy's shoulders, as the boy had rolled over to snuggle up to Logan. "Yea?" His voice was soft and quiet, as if he hadn't wanted to wake Remy completely. He smiled as soft kisses adorned his bare chest. "I'll be there." He hung up and wrapped both arms around Remy, who had now snuggled back into him.
"Don' go, cher." Remy whispered.
"I have to. They need me. I'll be back soon." Logan glanced up to see that Remy had sat up and was now staring at him. He sat up to look into glowing red on black eyes and explain. "They have a problem, and I'm the only one who's been where they need to go. Few days, tops."
Remy pouted. "Den, Remy go too."
"No. You're stayin here. You aren't completely over that cold from last week." Logan wasn't so surprised that Remy had demanded to go along. He had helped Remy gain back control of his abilities, but hadn't wanted him in the heat just yet. He watched Remy's expression change from hurt to puppy-dog eyes. "I said no."
Sighing and pouting, Remy folded his arms and stared at Logan. "I'm ready, Logan. Y' say y'self, Remy can blow up de city. Let me help, no? Please?" Remy pleaded. He leaned over and kissed Logan's jaw, then his neck and chest. Working his way down, he giggled and tickled Logan until the older man gave in.
Logan sighed and leaned back to rest against the headboard. He watched Remy work, as he played with the soft, auburn hair. Gasping and smiling as the boy sat up, again, he agreed. "One condition. You move when I tell you. And you have to move fast."
"Oui. When we leave?" Remy asked as he snuggled back down into Logan's chest.
Logan wrapped his arms around the boy and pulled the covers up around them. "Soon. Get some rest." No sooner had he said that had even breathing and soft cooing lulled him to sleep.
About an hour later, Logan had slipped out of bed and went to take a shower and get dressed. He was halfway through his shower when Remy climbed in behind him. A hand slipped around his waist and down to his manhood. He stopped the hand, eventhough he hadn't wanted to. "Later. Right now, we need to get ready and head out to meet them."
Remy sighed but let Logan finish his shower before taking his own. Softly caressing himself with a soaped up sponge, and glancing over to Logan- who was now sitting on the toiletseat lid drying off and dressing himself- he had taken his shower rather erotically. He smiled as Logan smirked and stood up to hand him a towel as Remy had turned the water off. As Remy dried himself off, he contained his excitement to see Jean and the others again. "Where we goin, anyway?" He asked and finished drying himself by wrapping the towel about his waist, and following after Logan to brush his teeth and comb his long hair, before finally going back to the bedroom.
Walking back into the room and turning on the lamp on Remy's table, Logan, now dressed minus his shoes, took a moment to sit on the bed and pull his shoes on before answering him. His blue jeans and light blue T-shirt covered his usual X-Men uniform. "It's a base I used to work for. Seems a few- old 'friends'- want to chat." He watched as Remy had dressed himself in black jeans and a black T-shirt. When Remy sat down on the bed beside him to tie his own shoes, Logan offered one more time for him to stay home. "Darlin, not that I don't love the way you look in those but, why don't ya stay here and rest? Won't take us long to 'explain' t' them. I can't risk you sneezin and blowin us to Kingdom Come."
Remy sat up from his hunched over position and glared at Logan. "I'm goin. Y' don' remember Michel's house? Or de fact dat Remy was one of de bes' in his day, no? I can do dis, Logan."
Remembering what happened to the house, he retracted his next statement
and shrugged his shoulders. "Come on, we can grab somethin to eat as we
head out the door. Six thirty now, we can be there by 7.15. And, grab yer
jacket. Might be breezy in Canada." Pulling the young man to his feet by
the hand, as he himself stood up, Logan shrugged and followed Remy out
of the bedroom and down the stairs. He turned
off the lights as they went.
Remy stopped at the bottom of the stairs and turned around to wait for Logan. "Canada?"
"Yep. You sure you don't want to change your mind?" Logan said as he reached the bottom of the stairs and then turned left, into the dining room, on his way to the kitchen. He walked into the kitchen and up to the counter-island in the middle of the room, to grab 2 green apples. The sun had started to rise, and had lit the room just barely enough to let them see where they were going. Logan glanced back at Remy, who was standing in the doorway, and tossed him an apple. He sighed when the young man only caught the apple and shook his head.
The two had walked back to the front door only to stop at the rack on the wall, as Logan removed a trenchcoat and handed it to Remy. He waited as Remy bit his apple and slipped the coat on, while holding the fruit between his teeth. He laughed quietly at how silly the kid looked but, reminded himself of the pressed schedule. He opened the front door and nudged the boy outside before following and locking the door behind him.

One of the vehicles Logan had brought with them on the move, was his
prized motorcycle. He raced through the swamp, on dirt roads that were
barely big enough for 2 people side by side, with Remy sitting behind
him and holding on tightly to his waist. He stopped in a grassy field
and got off.
The Blackbird had already touched down and opened the door for them.
Scott was the first to walk down
the ramp. "What kept you?" He asked in an impatient tone. Meeting Logan
halfway from Remy to the jet, he asked again. "Well?"
"The kid needed a jacket." Logan huffed and stopped to turn around and
watch as Remy was standing in
awe at the sleak black jet. He had been pushing the motorcycle over
to the jet while Remy followed behind him. "Come on, or we'll leave ya
here!" He called and waited for Remy to hurry over to them.
Scott cringed. "He is not going with us. I don't care what they had
to fight in the 20s, but in case you
haven't noticed, it's been awhile. We need people to move fast and
know what they're doing. This isn't a damn date, Logan." Cyclops, who was
dressed in his blue uniform and glaring through his visor, grabbed Logan's
arm and said in a hushed yell.
Sending Remy up the ramp and telling him to find a seat, he waited until the boy disappeared through the door before turning back to the leader and growling. "Let me tell you somethin, Cyke. If you think that kid aint worth much, you're on the wrong thought train. He was damn good in his day. Damn good. He can move pretty fast, and keep low. You just worry about not pissin him off, or your little toy," Pointing to the jet. "is gonna be brought back in little singed pieces."
Knowing somehow that Logan was right, Scott backed down and huffed as he followed Logan into the jet. "Everyone fastened?" He said and glanced back to see the newest member sitting beside Jubilee, on his left and Logan across the aisle, on his right. "Hang on."
The flight had taken only a few hours but seemed to go by rather quickly
to Remy. Every now and then, he leaned out into the aisle to observe the
controls and the others. Beast, Rogue, Storm, and of course Jubilee and
Logan were waiting patiently to land as Cyclops and Beast flew the jet
to their destination. For most of
the flight he had stared at certain places on the ceiling and walls,
in amazement. He had been in a plane before, but not a jet. Especially,
not one like this. Catching Logan's eye, and smiling, he went back to looking
around.
Storm sat in the row in front of Logan. She turned around in her seat and smiled at Remy. "How has Logan been treating you, Remy?"
Remy smiled back and glanced at Logan before answering. "Remy's been jus' fine, chere. Logan's a teddybear, no?" Hearing a quiet laugh from Logan, he too laughed.
Beast turned around and smiled. "Are you over your cold, Remy?" He had been at the co-pilot's controls, in front of Storm. Hank and Logan had talked over the phone when Remy had suddenly gotten sick. It was a doctor's state of mind that had needed confirmation on the boy's health.
Remy nodded and gave a sideways glance back to Logan.
Jubilee had started her non-stop talking to Remy, about Remy. She was
so excited that she knew an "old-school" mutant who had the master advantage
in his day. For the most part, Remy hadn't known about some things she
talked about. He wasn't sure if Logan knew, either. But he listened anyway,
and answered most
of her light-hearted questions.
"Give it a rest, girl. You're gonna tucker him all out before he gets outta the jet." Rogue spoke up from in front of Remy.
Remy smiled softly. "C'est bien, chere. De petite's jus' missin Remy, non?" No sooner had he said that then the jet had begun to descend rather rapidly. Plastering himself to the back of his seat, Remy's eyes widened as he reached out for Logan's hand. He eased as a strong hand entwined with his and stroked the back of his hand with a calm thumb.
As they touched down on a small abandoned airstrip, Remy let go of Logan's hand and waited for the jet to stop completely before moving again. He stood up when Logan did and followed right behind him. They walked down the ramp side by side and Remy leaned closer and asked where Jean was.
"Logan's 'friends' have her." Scott answered, rather coldly, from right behind Remy. His hidden eyes narrowed as Remy turned his head to look at him.
"Oh." Remy's voice had gotten softer as he spoke. "Didn' know dat, sorry."
Logan patted Remy's back. "S'ok kid. Don't worry about it." Logan had been on the left and Remy on the right, as they walked. He stopped and turned around as they reached the bottom of the ramp. Pulling Cyclops away from the group, by the arm, he growled at the 30ish year old man. "I'm not warnin ya, again. Back off the kid. He's an empath, not a freakin mind reader! He feels things. Your hostility becomes his, and you DON'T want to see him upset!"
Scott stared at Logan for a long moment. "Just make sure he keeps up." He stormed off as Logan growled again.

The group stood outside of a gated off base, focussing on one in particular.
A one level building with a
creme coloured exterior and armed guards that walked back and forth
all around it. Logan explained how to get inside without the alarms going
off, and then divided the team up into two groups.
Logan, Remy, Jubilee and Storm in one group that headed in the right direction of the fence. And, Scott led the others around the left side. "Remember what I said, Kid." Staring directly at Remy. "Keep up, keep low."
"Oui, mon brave." Remy nodded curtly and followed without a sound.
Jubilee squirmed in excitement. "This is so cool! I finally get to see Remy in action! Anyone have a video camera I can borrow?" She strolled and bounced along side Remy as Logan and Storm stayed in front.
Logan, who had kept walking, turned to look over his right shoulder and gave Jubilee a questionable look. Remy had turned his head to look at her as well.
"Qu'est-ce qui se passe?" Remy had not realised he had said it in French.
"Baking powder?" Jubilee shot him a glance and asked.
Storm turned and answered for Remy. "I believe he is wondering what you are talking about."
Remy nodded.
"Oh. Err, a video camera is a little device that..... uhh nevermind." Jubilee shrugged, embarrassed.
Quirking a grin, Logan explained to the still confused Cajun. "It makes movies, Cajun. Another advancement you missed."
"Oh."
~.~.~.~
Scott's voice chirped through Logan's comlink, on his wrist. "We're ready."
Logan raised his wrist and spoke into the watch-like communicator. "Good. See ya inside."
"Don't y'all have too much fun for the Cajun to keep up with." Rogue offered.
Logan and the others stood outside of the tall fence, and waited. Releasing his 6 claws, Logan drove them through a fuse box that was tied to a post to the left of him. Hearing the electricity quickly die from the fence, he carved a circle big enough to fit a small jeep through and hurried the group inside.
The outside areas of the base had been lush and full of trees and brush and Canadian plantlife, whereas the inside was the very opposite. Quite a distance for both groups to cover without being seen or picked up on scanner. Keeping low to the ground and silent, each team made it to their destinations. All, except Remy.
Remy stood there awed and horrified. This had been nothing like what he had ever been up against in the 20s or teens for that matter. When Logan waved at him to join, he shrugged and then started a series of flips and turns and rolls before eventually landing beside Storm, to Logan's left. He smiled confidently.
"Show off." Logan mumbled under his breath and raised his right hand's claws to "unlock" the solid metal door.
A hand stopped him and a slim body slid in between him and the door.
Remy reached into one of many hidden, inside pockets of his jacket, and
removed a playing card. Charging it with a delay timer, he slid it between
the door and the frame before telling the others to back up and cover their
eyes. A mute poof answered Storm and Jubilee's questions of why. Remy only
smirked and nudged the door open for the
others to enter.
"You are amazing, dear Remy." Storm smiled as she passed him, following Logan and leading a star-struck Jubilee.
Logan had stopped them as Remy had entered the long corridor. He sniffed. "Somethin's not right. Stay down." He hadn't glanced back to the others but merely held his hand out to stop them from proceeding. He sniffed again. Finally, he turned around and stared straight at Remy. "Give me an entrance, kid."
"Of course, cher." Remy removed another card from the same hidden pocket
and charged it. He tossed the
2 of diamonds down the bright corridor that branched off into 3 directions,
some 90 yards away. As it exploded, Remy shielded the two women as Logan
leapt forward into the crowd of smoke covered armed guards.
Only a few guards managed to get past Logan. Jubilee had zapped two with her ribbons of sparkling "plasmoids", while Remy used up several more cards.
Managing to finally overwhelm the few guards, they continued to follow
Logan. Jubilee to the left, and
Storm to the right, Logan kept himself in front of Remy at all times.
"I help wit' de lights, no?" Remy asked quietly as he retrieved an unopened
pack of cards from another inside pocket, on the other side of the jacket.
He took them out of the pack and held them in front of him. Charging one
at a time and then flicking them up to the long flourescent lights as if
he were tossing them into a hat, just inches away from him. Each light
went out with a hushed poof and a quick shiver of energy. He managed to
walk at a calm pace and throw each card as if he were standing still.
