*****
SIX MONTHS HAVE PASSED

Jean stood in the front hall of the mansion checking
her appearance for the hundredth time. The sexy little
silk slip dress was the perfect color to compliment
her fiery red hair, and fit every curve as if it were
hand made just for her. The earrings were her
grandmother's and the intricate delicacy of them
always took her back to when she was a little girl
having tea parties with her dolls. She looked at her
watch and stopped, Scott gave her the watch on their
last anniversary. She unhooked the clasp and turned it
over to read the inscription one more time: Always and
Forever, Scott & Jean.

She hurriedly put it back on and went to grab her keys
when she was stopped by a loud whistle and heavy
footsteps coming down the stairs. " Damn Jeannie, you
look good enough to eat! You seein' your mystery man
again tonight?"

She smiled into the mirror as Logan came into view,
" Yes. You're looking all right yourself, what's the
occasion?"

Logan stopped beside her and ran a finger around the
collar of his shirt, which for the first time she
could remember seeing on Logan, was a button down
dress shirt.
" Got some celebratin' t' do!"

Jean gasped and grabbed his arm, " You finally
asked?!"

"Oui, finally. How am I supposed to refuse when he so
romantically and bravely growls through the bathroom
door, " Wanna get hitched?"

Jean laughed and Logan looked down at the floor. Remy
descended the stairs as if he were floating, an
angelic smile on his face. He always looked good, but
he was dressed to take your breath away tonight. He
stepped up beside Logan and was automatically pulled
into the circle of his arm.

Jean took his hand and studied the simple gold band,
" Is there an inscription?"

Remy looked over at his smiling lover and said, "Oui,
but it ain' on th' ring, an' no y' can' see it."

Logan kissed Remy's temple and added, " Let's just say
he can't ever be returned now. I'm gonna go start the
car. Don't get carried away lookin' in the mirror kid,
we got reservations."

Remy slipped out of his arm, " I won'. I jus' wanna
talk t' Jeannie a sec Cher."

" Are Hank and Ro joining you in your celebrating?"
She reached up and adjusted his tie.

" Non, they got celebratin' o' their own goin' on
t'night." His brow rose and an evil grin slid over his
lips.

" No Way! Why was I not informed?! "

" Easy Chere, Henri only tol' me cause I threatened
his Twinkies. It only been a few dates, but I think
maybe... You been busy with celebratin' o' y' own."

" I'm so happy for them, and yes, I have been kind of
caught up in my own life lately."

In the past few months a lot of things had been
settled. Logan and Remy were shaky for a while, but
the love was never lost, and now they were back to the
beginning, but stronger, deeper, unbreakable and
unshakable. Jean took time off after Scott left. She
returned from her vacation in Hawaii tanned and
smiling about a mystery man she met. She refused to
give any details, afraid to jinx another relationship,
she said. She talked to Charles and Ro a lot about
Scott, and she seemed finally ready to move on.

" I'm happy for you." Remy winked, and settled her
necklace straighter.

" What are you talking about?"

"You may have the rest of 'em guessin', but I know
only one homme could put that light in y' eye Jeannie.
How is Cyke?"

She stared at him in the mirror, " I...I don't know
what you're talking about. I'm not-"

Remy smiled and shook his head, " When you people
gonna realize that y' can't lie t' me? Especially you!
Every time I'm near you after y' talk on the phone y'
make me dizzy!"

She looked at her watch and then back up at Remy," He
followed me to Hawaii," she said in a whisper. " It
was hard at first... he still had a lot of mixed
feelings..."

Remy took her hand, " He still loves Logan?"

She looked around and drew him into a telepathic
conversation, ~ He knows there's no way he can ever
have Logan. He's over that now.~

~ Long as he understands that, I got no problems ~ He
stared into her eyes and she could see that if that
ever changed Scott's life would be in grave danger.

~ We started dating again... he said he couldn't stop
thinking about me~ her voice was hopeful.

Her emotions made Remy feel like he was spinning,
~ Chere, y' mind tonin' down th' excitement!~ He
placed a hand out to steady himself.

~ I'm sorry, it's just that... the feeling is back.
That can't stop smiling, want to dance out into the
center of the lawn and shout up to Heaven feeling is
back! We lost it so long ago.~ She mentally giggled
and Remy couldn't help but join her.

~ I know that feelin', I have it all th' time.~

She smacked his arm playfully, and stuck out her
tongue as Logan returned. " Hey, it's a good thing I
came back to see what was keepin' ya kid. What did ya
say to get in trouble this time?" He placed a hand on
Remy's hip, for some reason he couldn't be in the room
with the kid anymore without touching him. He'd never
been this openly affectionate with any other lover he
could remember.

Remy wrapped himself around the older man and held him
tight, " I was only tellin' her how crazy in love I am
with y'."

Logan smiled at Jean, she couldn't help smiling at how
proud he was of the fact. " Oh, that... yep, got him
wrapped around my finger."

" An' other things," Remy purred into his ear.

Logan growled and claimed his lips in a sweet kiss. "
We gotta go. See ya Jeannie, we won't be at practice
tomorrow."

She watched them leave and called after them, " Bye
guys!" She checked her reflection one last time and
left right behind them. It was a long drive to their
new meeting place, but she didn't mind the drive,
Scott was expecting an answer to his question and she
needed the time to think.

Her fingers found the gold wedding band that hung on
the chain around her neck. She reached over carefully
and turned up the song on the radio and started
singing along with it. With a smile, and an incredibly
giddy feeling, she knew if he asked her to let him
place it back on her finger this time... she would
say yes.
